President's Message
Welcome to our 2025 Fall Fair, the volunteers have been working hard to provide an enjoyable time while visiting our fair and our small town.
Our 2024 ambassador program was a success with a golden ambassador, junior ambassadors and mini ambassadors who were present throughout the weekend. We encourage all persons to participate either entering or coming out to support. The Ambassador program is open to males and females so come out and have some fun.
This year we are taking advantage of the opportunity to have an agricultural booth that will have information regarding how agriculture impacts our daily lives. We ask that everyone stop by the booth and see what information is available. We have all our favourite events back; just a reminder that you can use debit or credit at the gates.
We look forward to seeing everyone again and are praying for great weather again.
We are always looking for volunteers so if you have some time to spare, think about helping, even if for a few hours throughout the weekend. We have a dedicated group of volunteers but are always willing to have more. Many hands make light work.
If you would like to volunteer reach out and we are always the last full weekend of September; 26, 27, 28, 2025. See you then.
Marlene Limpright
President
Coldwater & District Agricultural Society
In Memoriam
The Coldwater & District Agricultural Society remembers, pays tribute to, and honours, all those no longer with us, who dedicated portions of their lives to supporting and promoting the growth of agricultural knowledge and more importantly, community spirit, in our area. We thank them for their immense contribution and the example they have set for all of us.
Until we meet again, dear friends...

Ambassador Program
Coordinators: Monika Marsh (905-767-1623)
Cheryle Bidmead-Malone (705-835-3287)
The Coldwater Fall Fair will once again feature the Ambassador Program, with opportunities for the young and the young at heart to be ambassadors at the Fair, as follows:
- Mini Ambassador – Ages 6 to 9
- Junior Ambassador – Ages 10 to 15
- Ambassador – Ages 16 to 24
- Golden Ambassador – Ages 60 +
The Coldwater Fall Fair Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for rural youth in and around the Coldwater area. Being an Ambassador is a rewarding experience that helps to develop confidence and life skills and teaches the participants to be involved in their community. And for the Golden Ambassador, it’s an opportunity to meet new people, try new things, and share fun and interesting memories of past fairs. All the ambassadors will be involved in a variety of activities during the Fair, such as the parade, opening ceremonies, handing out ribbons, welcoming fairgoers and guests, and just having fun! Throughout the year, the ambassadors will participate in other events happening in Coldwater, as their schedules permit.
The ambassadors don’t have to be experts in agriculture, live on a farm, or have grown up in Coldwater. It’s all about having fun, exploring your own potential and learning new things about yourself and your community while you give back in a most amazing way.
This year’s competition for all levels will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025. The contestants for the Junior Ambassador, Ambassador and Golden Ambassador competitions will gather upstairs at the Coldwater Arena at 11 am to meet with the judges; friends and family and the contestants for the Mini Ambassador competition will be welcomed at noon. There will be some light refreshments. The guidelines for each level’s competition are as follows:
Mini Ambassador – The parents of the contestants will be given 10 simple questions in advance that they may practice with their child. On the day of the competition, the contestant will be asked 5 of these questions. In addition, each contestant will be required to make a poster that shows their favourite things, including at least one thing they love at the Fair, and be prepared to explain it. As well, they should bring along their favourite stuffed toy and be prepared to tell the judges about why they love it. There will be prizes for all participants.
Junior Ambassador – Each contestant will have a private interview with the judges. All contestants will then introduce themselves to the audience by presenting their bio which includes their name, school, grade, hobbies, interests, and any fun facts about them. After that they will deliver a 2 to 3 minute prepared talk on any topic they choose. A final fun, surprise task will be required of each contestant. There will be prizes for all participants.

There will be prizes for all participants, as well as a financial bursary for the Ambassador which will be payable in four instalments based on completion of certain expected activities throughout the year. These include attending the OAAS convention in February and a variety of events in Coldwater throughout the year. The successful contestant will have the opportunity to participate in the Ambassador of the Fairs Program at the Canadian National Exhibition during the following August, and compete for a variety of honours and financial prizes during that competition, provided that he or she is at least 18 years of age at that time.
Golden Ambassador – Did you know that Coldwater is the first Fair in Ontario to have a Golden Ambassador? Be part of this history-making experience, and set the stage for other Fairs to follow our lead!

ENTERTAINMENT
SATURDAY
Barb & Clark Music
Songs from Yesteryear – 50's 60's & 70's
We are a retired couple who are enjoying our time entertaining with popular tunes from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Clark is an experienced guitar musician and both of us sing. We have been entertaining at private functions, local senior residences and churches for 5 plus years. These events bring us great joy. One of our most proud events was a fundraiser to benefit a family who had experienced some serious unexpected health issues.
We look forward to bringing our music to new venues and sharing the joy it brings us.
On Stage IN ARENA
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
We The Fellows (WTF)
A trio of local musicians performing acoustic classic rock and folk music in three part harmony.
David Devine has spent many years teaching music and playing in numerous bands and genres around the Orillia area.
Geoff Booth has played in and around Simcoe County since the 1990s, at folk festivals and area establishments.
Chris Lewis, a Ramara Luthier, is the owner of chrisguitars.ca and was raised with live music in his blood.Several generations of musicians in his family have been entertaining the local markets for years.
Together, they bring a love of acoustic music from the folk and classic rock eras. Their blending of harmonies and feel-good music will have everyone tapping their toes and singing along.
OUTSIDE at Picnic Pavilion
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
SUNDAY
The Wanted
Folk and Alternative Country
Beautifully blurring the lines between Folk and Alt-country with that Canadian ‘edge’ and trademarked ‘cool’ that is so difficult to put into words.” For years now, The Wanted have built a reputation for writing gritty songs that are darkly haunting, incisively witty or just plain fun. This is full-throated, full-throttle entertainment with edgy licks, infectious rhythms and soaring harmonies— a "…performance worthy of The Ryman on a steamy Saturday night.
On Stage IN ARENA
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Helen Stewart
Old Country, Blues & Rock n Roll
After close to 50 years in the business, it’s still old school. I play guitar and sing songs that I can relate to and that mean something to me. I like to tell a story and believe the audience should be included. It’s all impromptu, and no performance is the same.
OUTSIDE at Picnic Pavilion
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Free Play Area for Children

Descriptions - Morning Show
Best Groomed: This class is intended to encourage all exhibitors to take the utmost effort and care to present their horse/pony at the Fair in a clean and properly groomed manner. Judge is to use their discretion in deciding the winner of this class. The judge will be permitted to touch the mane, tail, body and possibly lift feet if required to assist in placing.
Steady Hands: Each rider will start with a cup full of water. The riders will then start on the rail at a walk and will follow the judge's directions. At the end, the judge will collect all the cups and whichever rider with the most water left in their cup will place first. The next cup with the most water will be second and so on until fifth place.
Sack Race: Riders ride down to a sack on the ground in front of a handler. The rider is to dismount, get in a sack and hop back to the finish line while leaving their horse/pony with the handler. First one to cross the finish line in their sack wins.
Toy Pick Up: Rider will ride down to a barrel and pick a toy up off the top of the barrel and carry the toy back over the finish line while mounted. You may take your time choosing specific toy you like, but you may only pick one. The rider gets to keep his chosen toy. However, this is a timed event. If the rider drops the toy there is a 5 second penalty. The fastest time wins.
Down and Back: The riders will ride down and go around the barrel at the end of the ring and ride back. The fastest time wins. If they knock the barrel over it is a "no time".
Costume: Open to anyone of any age. You dress yourself and your horse in a costume of choice. Theme is "Rubber Boots and Country Roots". Judged on originality, level of difficulty, participation of horse and rider and audience reaction.
Descriptions - Afternoon Show
Poles: Riders compete in a slalom pattern of six poles. Knocked poles are a 5 second penalty. Off pattern results in “no time”. This is a timed event.
Flag: Rider will ride to the first barrel and pick up the flag, then carry the flag around the second barrel in a figure 8 pattern. The rider then places the flag back in the first barrel before continuing back through the timer. The fastest completed time
without missing a pickup or drop off wins. Missing of flag is no time. Knock of barrel is a “no time”.
Dash For Cash: Riders will ride down and around the barrel at the end of the arena. This is a timed event. Fastest time wins. A knocked barrel or off pattern will result in a “no time”
Barrels: Riders must complete a proper clover leaf pattern around three barrels. The fastest time wins. A knocked barrel is a 5 second penalty. Off pattern is a “no time”.
Jackpot Barrels: Same as barrels. A knock is a "no time" and an off pattern is a “no time”.
Musical Buckets: This is a group event. Riders will ride the same direction and remain outside the markers while the music is being played. When the music stops the riders must get off their horses and enter the area where the buckets are from the sides, they CANNOT enter from the ends. Each rider must sit on a bucket, if the rider does not get a bucket they are out. After everyone is mounted again and riding to the music a bucket will be removed and we will start the next round. The last rider to sit on a bucket will be the winner. Riders are allowed to use the buckets to mount their horses. Riders in the youth and open must either jog, lope or canter, peewee riders will be permitted to walk, jog or lope, depending on their comfort level. Peewee riders will also be allowed to have a handler if needed.
Just remember everyone that this is meant to be a fun day, and if there is anyone being unsportsmanlike or rude and negative to other riders, you may be asked to leave with no refund. We want everyone to be encouraging and positive, to make this an amazing day and fun for everyone! We can’t wait to see everyone again!
